Understand what is shaped acrylic

Acrylic is an important plastic polymer material that was developed earlier. It has good transparency, chemical stability and weather resistance, easy to dye, easy to process, and beautiful in appearance. Many acrylic products appear in daily life. With the continuous improvement of the industrial level, the shapes and styles that acrylic can be made have increased, and special-shaped acrylic products have gradually become the mainstream.

Understand what is shaped acrylic

There are several major processing techniques for special-shaped acrylic:

1. Hot bending

There are two commonly used hot bending: local hot bending and model hot bending. Local bending is to place the part of the acrylic to be bent on the heated heating rod. Slowly heat the heating rod to soften the part where the acrylic is bent, and then bend it into any shape you want. Model hot bending is to put the acrylic to be bent in the oven and slowly increase the temperature. After the acrylic softens, take it out and place it on the pre-made mold. After cooling, it can be formed.

2. Hot melt

The acrylic is heated to a certain temperature, and it is quickly nested and kneaded by hand directly. It requires that the composition be prepared in advance, the action is agile, and the finished handicraft has the advantages of bold lines and simple image.

3.CNC engraving

CNC engraving generally uses back engraving, which means engraving from the front and viewing from the back, which makes the finished product more three-dimensional. When engraving the back, please mirror the graphics first, and the engraving speed should be fast and the power should be low. If the power is too high during engraving, uneven stripes will appear on the bottom surface. If you want to engrave deeper, try engraving several times.

Understand what is shaped acrylic

Acrylic is affected by temperature. The temperature during the hot melting process is generally around 150°C, but when the acrylic starts to decompose, the temperature of the hot-bent acrylic processing is higher than 270°C, so in terms of temperature changes Still very flexible.
